Alright, my soon-to-be-hitched pals! Your favourite Nottingham wedding photographer is back with some venue wisdom, specifically focusing on the brilliant spots I personally love. We’re diving back into the wonderful world of Nottingham wedding venues, armed with charm – the kind of venues I think work from a photography perspective as a beautiful setting for you and your guests.
Planning a wedding can feel overwhelming without knowing where to start, but finding the perfect place to say “I do” should be exciting! Think of it as choosing the ultimate backdrop for your vows, and for me, to work my magic. I’ve had the pleasure of capturing love stories in some truly stunning Nottinghamshire wedding venues, and the ones you’ve picked are the ones I’d love to go back to, time and time again, and also thrown one I never shot at yet ( and you’ll have to make a guess which one!).
So, let’s tour some stellar wedding venues Nottingham offers, keeping in mind how utterly fantastic you’ll look in the photos (because, priorities).

1. Grand & Historic
If you envision a wedding with a side of serious historical gravitas and grounds that stretch further than your planning checklist, these venues deliver on point. They offer magnificent backdrops that make for cool photographs, so let’s get down to business:
Wollaton Hall: [https://wollatonhall.org.uk/weddings/] – Prepare for your jaw to hit the floor, this majestic Elizabethan mansion, just a stone’s throw from the city and set within a beautiful park complete with deer (they make excellen and a bit unpredictable, photo props), offers a truly grand setting for a wedding. The architecture is phenomenal for photos, inside and out, and those views across the park?I can’t think but wonder how it feels to celebrate there, especially if your wedding outfit has a cape. Too much?
Holme Pierrepont Hall: [https://www.holmepierreponthall.com/weddings/] – A hidden historical gem among Nottingham wedding venues with a beautiful Tudor courtyard and elegant interiors. It feels steeped in history without being stuffy. The Long Gallery is a gorgeous space for a ceremony, and the gardens provide a romantic feel for your photos. It’s the kind of place where every corner is a potential photo opportunity, perfect for capturing both grand moments and quiet inbetweens. It also has a church next door – how convenient?
2. Countryside: Romance, Green Fields, and Great Light
For those who yearn for rolling hills, fresh air, and a wedding that feels like a chic countryside retreat, these 2 nearby Nottingham wedding venues offer beautiful settings away from the urban hustle. Plenty of natural beauty means plenty of natural light for gorgeous, natural-looking photos.
- Cockliffe Country House: [https://cockliffecountryhouse.co.uk/weddings-at-cockliffe/] – A beautifully restored 17th-century farmhouse that perfectly blends rustic charm with sophisticated style. Surrounded by a lovely outdoor space, it offers a peaceful and picturesque setting for a wedding. The house itself is full of character, providing warm, inviting spaces for photos, and the gardens are ideal for relaxed portraits against a backdrop of greenery.
- Langar Hall: [https://langarhall.com/weddings/] – An utterly charming and slightly eccentric Georgian country house renowned for its warm atmosphere and incredible food. Getting married at this Nottinghamshire-famous venue feels less like a venue hire and more like borrowing a fabulous, slightly bohemian friend’s amazing house for the weekend. The interiors are wonderfully quirky and photogenic, and the gardens are delightful for exploring with your wedding photographer, capturing moments that are both elegant and full of personality. You can see one of my intimate weddings I shot there on my blog
